Debut album by Ranger. The high-speed guitar riffing is nonstop, the rough but clean vocals are repeatedly punctuated by high-pitched screams and the lyrics are a jumbled mix of satanism and both nuclear and conventional warfare. You could argue that the production is a let-down, being a bit basic, but I think it adds to the whole feel of the album, it just feels right. It definitely deserves a spot in this year's top albums.

4th album by Enforcer. Many bands like this are carried by the vocals, but Enforcer is increasingly a slave to the guitar power of Wikstrand and Joseph Tholl. The riffs are plenty and bountiful throughout this incredible incarnation of heavy metal worship with some awesome solos that are executed with startling precision.
