The band continues in their crusade to merge a refined and epic black metal with some progressive overtones, displaying a stunning versatility with grim and fierce riffs contrasting nicely with epic and memorable prog melodies. What really gives “Urd” its distinctive flavour is the fact that ICS Vortex (he returns in band after 12 years), Vintersorg and Lars Nedland all share lead vocal duties. The results are simply mind-blowing.

2nd album by Varg. They combine the heaviness of death metal and the melodic sensibility of black metal to create a lethal hybrid that is both scathing and pummeling. The music found on this release is very melodic, sometimes mid-paced, sometimes blasting at full speed. Harsh black metal vocals, heavy guitars and semi-complex drumming make up a good bulk of the release.
