Korpiklaani - Tervaskanto

Genre: Folk/Heavy
Country: Finland
Year: 2007

1. Let's Drink
2. Tervaskanto
3. Viima
4. Veriset Äpärät
5. Running With The Wolves
6. Liekkiön Isku
7. Palovana
8. Karhunkaatolaulu
9. Misty Fields
10. Vesilahden Veräjillä
11. Nordic Feast

4th album by Korpiklaani. The successful formula of their previous albums is here too, but this time the group sounds more serious and less fun. Nevertheless, the songs are a great mix of folk/polka with heavy/thrash, with drunken lyrics and nice production.

Malevolent Creation - Eternal

Genre: Death
Country: U.S.A.
Year: 1995

1. No Salvation
2. Blood Brothers
3. Infernal Desire
4. Living In Fear
5. Unearthly
6. Enslaved
7. Alliance Or War
8. They Breed
9. To Kill
10. Hideous Reprisal
11. Eternal
12. Tasteful Agony

4th album by Malevolent Creation. It is the first album without drummer Alex Marquez (mighty Dave Culross behind the kit) and original vocalist Brett Hoffmann, whose vocal duties were taken over by bassist Jason Blachowicz. It has a cleaner sound, more mature perhaps, as compared to the previous three albums, but maintains a quality of grittiness.

Blood Tsunami - For Faen!

Genre: Thrash
Country: Norway
Year: 2013

1. Butcher Of Rostov
2. Dogfed
3. The Rape Of Nanking
4. The Dungeon Of The Rats
5. Metal Fang
6. The Brazen Bull
7. Grave Desecrator
8. Unholy Nights
9. B.T.K.
10. Krokodil

3rd album by Blood Tsunami. Short, brutal, raw, simple and true thrash metal tracks. This album is less melodic compared to former releases. The riffage clearly owes a lot to the classics and has a nice old school feel about it. There’s a lot of early Sodom and Destruction to be heard here, with harsh vocals and thrashing attitude throughout.

Finntroll - Blodsvept

Genre: Folk/Heavy
Country: Finland
Year: 2013

1. Blodsvept
2. Ett Folk Förbannat
3. När Jättar Marschera
4. Mordminnen
5. Rösets Kung
6. Skövlarens Död
7. Skogsdotter
8. Häxbrygd
9. Två Ormar
10. Fanskapsfylld
11. Midvinterdraken

6th album by Finntroll. It's different from the sound we are used to, but they managed to stay true to themselves. The growling vocals may be pure death/black metal, but that is where the connection with the genre ends. The record is characterized by their usual focus towards stomping rhythms and folk melodies. There's a greater reliance on keyboards and synths than previously.

7. Harlot Rises
8. Blood Red And True

5th album by Leviathan. Wrest (the only member of the band), before this release was accused for violence and rape against his ex-girlfriend, using his tattoo tools. True or not, this release is Wrest's answer to all of the accusations. Aggressive black metal, post-punk references, ambient and noise sounds and depressive atmosphere.

Manowar - Hail To England

Genre: Epic/Heavy
Country: U.S.A.
Year: 1984

1. Blood Of My Enemies
2. Each Dawn I Die
3. Kill With Power
4. Hail To England
5. Army Of Immortals
6. Black Arrows
7. Bridge Of Death

3rd album by Manowar. The music backs up their themes (battles, kings, dragons, etc.), making this album strong from start to finish. Production-wise it is good by today's standards, but considering they did this in 1984 and the fact that it was recorded in six days, it is amazing.

Pete Colucci did the lyric thing and performed all the vocals here, while Lawrence Nielsen played all the instruments. The duo is delivering a dark and melodic version of blackened death metal. 18 minutes of aggressive yet melodic songwritting, great vocal delivery and a dark atmosphere allover.

2nd album by Blade Of The Ripper, featuring Adam Neal (ex-Nashville Pussy), behind the mic. 10 killer tracks of raw and rough thrash metal, flirting in times with punk or NWOBHM, with a distinctive voice and old school production. Impressive songwritting, amazing choruses and dirty feeling!

4. They're Not Human
5. Moonshine Mutilation
6. Video Vixen
7. Brainwaves Of Death
8. Sheetar The Bloodqueen
9. Dreadful Pleasures

Debut album by Revolting. It is only just over half an hour long, a brief and powerful serving of catchy and heavy classic death metal. Thick crunchy riffs, rumbling bass, up tempo drum beats and raspy snarled vocals. The material is relatively simplistic, which fits the theme and is consistent with the musicians who inspired this album.

Propagandhi - Failed States

7. Cognitive Suicide
8. Things I Like
9. Unscripted Moment
10. Dark Matters
11. Lotus Gant
12. Duplicate Keys Icaro (An Interim Report)

6th album by Propagandhi. While it’s not a purely metal album, it leans a lot more toward the modern Converge style of hardcore than the band’s earlier material, adding a number of pure thrashing sections throughout the album alongside some pretty furious shred sections. Fast hardcore/punk mixed with a lot of thrash elements and political lyrics.

9. The Butcher's Bill

Debut album by Thronar. Tracks 2, 4, 7 and 8 are from Thronar's 2003 demo (re-recorded) and the rest are new tracks. Think of Turisas meets Bal Sagoth, mix it with some thrashy riffs, clean and grunt vocals, keyboard-driving songs and epic atmospheres and you got yourself a clear idea of how this might sound like. The album is catchy and has both aggressive and melodic elements.

Great, strong production, aggressive riffing and vocal delivery, for the fans of Afgrund, E.N.T, Skitsystem, etc.

Helloween - Pink Bubbles Go Ape

Genre: Power/Heavy
Country: Germany
Year: 1991

1. Pink Bubbles Go Ape
2. Kids Of The Century
3. Back On The Streets
4. Number One
5. Heavy Metal Hamsters
6. Goin' Home
7. Someone's Crying
8. Mankind
9. I'm Doin' Fine, Crazy Man
10. The Chance
11. Your Turn

4th album by Helloween. Kai hansen left the band, pumpkins replaced by bubbles and no more drawings for cover art. Major changes that had as result the poor performance of the band generally. Kiske is doing his best to save the situation, but this is not enough. Some songs are really good, but generally the album suffers in songwritting.
