The 3rd album by Vindicator, finds the band with some lineup changes. Singer Marshall Law has quit the band and the vocals are now handled by guitarist and composer Vic Stown. The band also got reinforced by guitarist James J.LaRue (ex-White Wizzard). The music on the whole is obviously derivative, but Vindicator still manages to make it work. Rapid, sharp, violent and aggressive thrash, with some killer riffs, nice choruses and some outstanding solos.

Sacrilege - Behind The Realms Of Madness

Genre: Thrash/Crust
Country: England
Year: 1985

1. Life Line
2. Shadow from Mordor
3. At Death's Door

Debut album by Sacrilege. The band plays fast and filthy thrash with a huge hardcore/punk influence. Thrashing riffs, blasting drums and an amazing female vocalist. The overall raw power of this album is what makes it so good. The lyrics are fairly political, regarding 2 members played in The Varukers, which again honors the thrash and hardcore tradition.

Terrordrome - The Day Of Sacrilege

Genre: Techn.Brutal Death
Country: Greece
Year: 2012

1. Alas, In The Wound…
2. …For Mayhem To Begin

6. Compel To Sin
7. Conceit Is The Disease
8. Impale The Unfit Servant

2nd album by Terrordrome. Through the years, the band became more technical compared to its early years. The music is generally no-frills brutal death metal, but to spice it up some they’ve added solo tech leads and flamengo and jazz sections, plus Motorhead/Darkthrone influences in the most bizarre of circumstances. Great production, great musicianship, great album.

Rotten Sound - Cycles

Genre: Grindcore/Death
Country: Finland
Year: 2008

3. Blind 4. Units
5. Corponation
6. Colonies 7. Poor
8. Days To Kill
9. Deceit
10. Caste System
11. Alternews
12. Simplicity
13. Enigma
14. Decimate 15. Victims
16. Sold Out
17. Feet First
18. Trust

5th album by Rotten Sound. The songs still retain that extreme and chaotic, but paradoxically melodic and simply organic aura Rotten Sound managed to develop in Murderworks and improved in Exit. Amidst the fast punkish grinds, there are several chunky breakdowns and some of the riffs are more reminiscent of the swedish sound than Napalm Death or Terrorizer. 34 minutes of explosive, pulverizing grind/death.

1. Twist the Knife (Slowly)
2. Hung
3. Remain Nameless
4. Plague Rages
5. More Than Meets the Eye
6. Primed Time
7. State of Mind
8. Armageddon X 7

5th album by Napalm Death. The album seamlessly mixes their older insane speeds, newer death metal influences and adds in a touch of the groove metal of the time, to create an utterly compelling release, that ranges various tempos and styles while still maintaining the classic Napalm Death feel and attitude. This is definitely more death metal than grind, a fact made obvious by the scarce use of blastbeats.

5th album by Slayer. It is the final album with Dave Lombardo on drums, until his reunion on 2006. Overall, it had matured considerably as a band and the result was very heavy and convincing. Every song has a sort of underlying groove that actually builds up a chilling atmosphere.

18. Black Holes 19. Harsh Reality 20. Arm Yourselves
21. 6 Million Miles 22. Fiery Rebirth 23. Outro

3rd album by Noisear. It follows the Brutal Truth / Discordance Axis approach, spindly riffs fly fast and steady, more tech-oriented than punkish. Only one song tops one minute in length. Rainwater’s riffs are consistently hooky and solid, whilst Fajardo brings the blasts. The lyrics are what you’d expect, angry, politically fueled and depicting horrible endings of this world.

14. Predatory Glow

8th album by Converge. Everything here is extreme, volume, dalrk melodies, speed and tempo changes. Guitarist and producer Kurt Ballou lends his trademark touch, with the chaotic sound of the album complementing its musicianship perfectly. The band has once again succeeded in bringing a cohesive form to chaos, with songs changing genres quickly and has once again shown us why we should enjoy music!!

Gorefest - Soul Survivor

Genre: Heavy/Death'n'Roll
Country: Holland
Year: 1996

1. Freedom
2. Forty Shades
3. River
4. Electric Poet
5. Soul Survivor
6. Blood Is Thick
7. Dog Day
8. Demon Seed
9. Chameleon
10. Dragon Man

4th album by Gorefest. This one shows more melody compared to the other albums and less brutality but it is still a piece of genius in its own. It´s actually only the semi-growling vocals by Jan-Chris de Koeijer and the occasional harder edged riff that points in the death metal direction. For the most part it is a brilliant, pretty melodic '70s influenced heavy metal album.

17. Manipulation

Debut album by Fear Factory. Burton C. Bell, Dino Cazares and Raymond Herrera with producer Colin Richardson bring to the surface an extremely intense and powerful album with a particular structure and sound. It’s clearly heavily influenced by early grindcore and doom bands. The vocals are not all growled on the album, as the singer actually put in some diverse melodic vocals in certain parts of the tracks.
