Debut album by Meshuggah. It is certainly heavily influenced by old Metallica, but still shows the unconventional time signatures, that the band would become known for on subsequent releases. The music is spastic, grinding and stomping, as compared to later works which are more robotic and groovy in comparison. The tecnical level is very high, the production is good, but not outstanding.

7th album by Meshuggah. If you're expecting the extremely technical polyrhythmic wizardry of obZen, look somewhere else. Finally everybody can listen to Meshuggah without having a headache! The focus is on the riff and the groove rather than complexity or technicality. The riffs are still groovy, the drumming still spectacular and the vocals still brutal, yet everything Meshuggah creates with this album is natural.
