Debut album by Legend. The sound is rooted in the '70s rock-sound, but transferred to melodic heavy metal with a distinct quality. While it leaned toward the more rockish side of things, they had long, progressively-tinged songs with extremely catchy and very metallic riffs, way ahead of most other US bands at the time.

Debut album by Saxon. It has mostly simple, catchy heavy metal tracks with simple and rhythmic power chords riffing which are easy for listening and also pretty enjoyable. Not even clocking over 30 minutes, this is a short and valuable album which marks the first breaths of this genre. The production quality is poor and Saxon would certainly go on to do much bigger and better things.

The tracklist is notoriously bluesier than their following endeavors, with Fast Eddie's and Phil Taylor's  great performances next to Lemmy's.

2nd album by Motorhead. It is the album where the pieces of that formula really came together to create the classic Motorhead mode. Expect lots of quick, sleazy rock ‘n’ roll, outfitted with lots of lead guitar, double bass, distorted bass guitar solos, a nasty swagger full of attitude. A classic album full of classic songs.

Debut album by Accept, which did not achieve much commercial success. This is not one of their best albums, nor does it feature many of their classic set pieces, but it was nonetheless an impressive offering in an age where hard rock was slowly transmuting into heavy metal. The lack of production makes this album sound poor and light.
