The 5th album by Agalloch is a highly enjoyable and interesting experience. There is something here for fans of all their other work, and the sheer complexity alone makes the album bound to grow even larger upon each subsequent listen. Haughm’s characteristic clean vocals are relegated to the background for the entirety of this album. Instead the weight is placed on whispered rasps and the occasional feral growl.

Great one-song 'Ep by Agalloch. It is based on Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s epic masterpiece 'Faust'. The song is epic even by Agalloch standards, at 21:34 it’s the longest track ever recorded by the band. Musically, here we have black metal with blast eats mixed with acoustic parts, epic melodies, slower parts and generally a great variety.

2nd album by Agalloch, a really great atmospheric masterpiece. The sound is very unique, mixing folk, doom, black and atmospheric into something ungodly. The vocals range from clean to a black metal style screech and everything in between. Most of the songs are mid paced or slower with a almost doom undercurrent included.

Debut album by Agalloch. They took their folky black metal style (demos era) and mingled it with post rock. The result is an intriguing album, with the atmosphere of black metal laid out in post rock fashion  and some folky guitar playing thrown into the mix.  It's very folk inspired, a lot of great guitar playing and the instrumentals are truly breathtaking. The simplicity of this album displays that it's not always necessary to throw in technical riffs and solos to shape uniquely creative songs.
