Debut album by Bent Sea, consisting of vocalist Sven De Caluwé (Aborted), guitarist/drummer Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth), and bassist Shane Embury (Napalm Death), who replaced temporary bassist Devin Townsend a year after their formation in 2011. It is classic grindcore through and through, bringing dissonance, technicality, brutality, and even a hint of atmosphere to the table.

6th album by Urn, 6 years after their last one. This is still heavy, energetic stuff with that thrashy edge, but it sounds less black to me than it used to. The vocals are softer and more tuneful and the riffs and leads are a lot more accessible than they used to be. Enjoyable, even if it's not as feral as it used to be.

'Peregrinus' remains a fairly varied album that doesn’t hesitate to venture into all areas to convince. The strength of this album is its easy-to-listen-to nature. It flows well, and really doesn’t outstay its welcome.

Debut album by Necrochakal. This is very old school, with some hints of very early Sodom, Destruction and the chaotic Brazilian thrash bands of the same era. It's fast, savage, raw blackened thrash with very little polish and a dark, putrid vibe throughout. The barked vocals are insane and pretty much indecipherable and are the perfect fit for the chaotic music on offer.
