Grinding, roaring riffs back up high-speed lead guitars, while some really good basswork plugs away under it all. Vocalist Matti Kärki spits out lines and his vocals also contribute for the overall atmosphere of the album.

Simple guitarwork that in times becomes more complex, mostly mid-paced songs, great vocal performance (reminding Messiah Marcolin) and a lyrical concept based on the true story about Gunhild Taraldsdatter, who was decapitated for giving birth to an illegitimate child in the mid 16th century. It's an interesting album that flows smoothly from the start til the end without getting boring.

2nd album by Arckanum. Raw, fast and unique black metal, in it's most refined, genuine form, filled with witching, obscure forest mysticism, all in the 90′s vein. Shamaatae performes all instruments (except for some session strings and vocals) and he does it all with great skill, especially the drums which is his main instrument. Folk elements are applied here and there, but the most astonishing thing about this album is the use of clean, almost monk-like vocals, endowing the music with a pagan sensibility.
