For most of the album, Ruins thrashes and bashes their way through short songs full of simple, rapidly strummed chordal riffs and equally furious, straightforward drumming over which various blasphemies are spewed in a strangled squawk. Most of the songs are enjoyable enough while they are playing, being full of reckless aggression and an infectious enthusiasm. The overall atmosphere is cold, desolate and chilling, yet with this minimalistic, uneasy and uncompromising approach.

This is the band's first demo, featuring 11 songs of jarring black chaos. Angel of the Abyss is an experimental black metal/noise project comprised of several anonymous musicians. AOTA creates chaotic, unnerving atmospheres by running traditional black metal through varying tape speeds and adding a plethora of violent, noisy effects, all covered by layers of shrieking, hysterical vocals.
